So You Wanna Meet Lacey Kaye?
I’m glad you’re curious! Unfortunately, there’s not much to tell. I wish I could say writing has always been my burning passion but that’s simply not true. I’ve certainly always been an avid reader! I get a point for that, right? But unlike many authors, when I was a little girl I never considered the possibility of writing for a living — not even for my own pleasure. Instead, I planned my life around a career in the aerospace industry. Not terribly adventurous, I know.
Believe me, I know.
To be honest, I only chose that direction because 1) it sounded cool 2) I like money. Hm…when one considers the volatile state of the aerospace industry, prolonged employment becomes something of an oxymoron and work and wealth become mutually exclusive. In fact, when you think about it, writing might not be such a bad idea after all. Perhaps I won’t starve when I get laid off. Or maybe I’ll never get published and I’ll end up starving anyway. Then I’ll finally lose that 40 pounds I’ve been meaning to drop. Win-win, right?
Well, whether for purpose or pleasure, writing has now become an obsession for me. It’s apparent I’ve created a monster. A typing, storytelling fiend with only one enemy: the evil villain, Time. Maybe at one point in my life I was cool enough to have Real People as friends, but now there’s just no stopping the urge to put pen to paper.
Friends, schmiends. There are people living in my head! And they are way cooler than me, I promise. Now that I’ve completed my two manuscripts I’m just itching to work on my third (and then my fourth, and my fifth…) Must.get.the.voices.to.stop!
Be sure to drop by the excerpt pages and see what I’ve been up to. Then check back periodically for updates on my next manuscript, If You Asked an Angel to Love. And if after all this rambling you’re still curious about me, I also have a blog. It keeps me occupied when the creative juices are just not flowing…which is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I like to keep to a schedule–you’ll learn that about me pretty quick. (And don’t even get me started on lists…I swear there’s a secret nerd living inside me.)
Wish me luck!
